attaches to the stock speedometer with its clamp to ensure you know when you reach top speed at night. With the swivel joint the lamp can be fixed in your preferred position. A brass lever at the top allows for easy switching on and off.

The Harley-Davidson V models (side-valve engines with 1200 and 1300 cc in the early 1930s) had the speedometer drive on the right side of the rear wheel hub.
To transmit wheel movement, a thin steel plate sits between the hub and the speedometer drive, engaging the hub with two small tongues and driving the gear wheel with two flats.
Even if you’re careful, during tire changes on the rear wheel you can easily pinch this plate or break off one of the tongues. The oldest of these parts are now over 90 years old and are often corroded and brittle. Because this plate is no longer available anywhere — at least as far as we know — The Cyclery has had these plates reproduced in spring steel — as their original name was “drive spring”.
