A Restoration Guide for 45” H-D Twins 1929-1936
A Restoration Guide for 45” H-D Twins 1929-1936
This comprehensive manual is aimed at owners and restorers of Harley-Davidson D and R models (1929–1936, 45"/750cc) and is considered one of the most detailed reference works for these series. With over 1,750 photos, including a full color chapter on paint and emblems, the book provides thorough documentation of all relevant technical details.
It includes product information, model identifications, technical specifications, factory bulletins, parts descriptions, dimensions and illustrations, as well as practical instructions for disassembly, repair, testing, and adjustment. Particularly noteworthy are the exploded views, which have not been previously available, such as for the 1929–1934 3-speed transmission, the 1933–1937 "Slant-Top" reverse gear transmission, the 30D generator, Klaxon 11 horn, external band brake, 1930–1936 breaker points, the Mesinger No. 3 saddle, and various wheel hubs. The work is complemented by high-quality factory photos of the different models.
Although primarily intended for D and R model owners, the detailed technical information also provides valuable insights for other Harley-Davidson motorcycles from this era. Printed on glossy paper with a durable spiral binding, the book lies flat on the workbench, making it ideal for practical use.
