Handlebars for Classic Springer Fork

Standard Handlebars
Standard Handlebars
Reproductions of the handlebars for Classic Springer forks. Standard bars were the typical equipment for bikes with sidecar, Servi-cars and Police models. Compared to the Speedster it is wider, higher and sweeps back farther for a more upright seating position which makes it also a good choice for two-up riding with buddy seat, because it doesn’t hit the rider’s leg in turns. Available with inline center pieces for Big Twins 1936-45 and 45” models or with offset center pieces for Big Twins 1946-49.

Wrecking Crew Tramp I Handlebars
Wrecking Crew Tramp I Handlebars
The shape of these handlebars is inspired by the legendary Tramp I, a Knucklehead drag bike built by S&S founder George Smith in the early Fifties. They feature distinctive, pulled-down tube ends. This feature helps so much when crouching down on the tanks during your quest for top speed. The selection includes handlebars for stock spiral grips thru 1948 and handlebers which feature straight 1” tubing on both ends so they will accept 1974-up grips and clamp type throttle controls.

Triple clamp integrated: Handlebars for Springer Forks

Original handlebars from the late 1930s and 1940s - and still for 1950s Servi Cars - for both inline and offset forks, for 1200 and 1300 Flatheads, Knuckleheads and 45” models, have 4-3/4" center spacing of the two holes for the fork tubes in the central casting. The hole in the center for the steering stem varies by model year. So do the dimensions (pullback, height, width), of course. To hjelp with finding the handlebar that suits your preferred seating position, we show drawings with the most important dimensions in the store.

But since you can't really please everyone, no matter how many parts and reproductions you offer, there is of course a distinctive selection of custom handlebars for Springer forks, e.g. the Flanders reproductions by Faber, which require special triple clamps and risers. Or the way cool leaf spring Lane Splitter bars by Cannonball, which are made like the legendary Gazda handlebars from the 1920s. They bolt directly onto the fork with additional triple clamps.
