Back in the Forties and Fifties Chicago Motorcycle Supply (CMS) was one of the leading manufacturers of aftermarket accessories for American motorcycles. These hard-plastic grip sets are still made on the original moulds and make for that perfect "period piece".

Most period Bobbers and many stock bikes had them: Flanders handlebars with matched risers and fork clamps. When they were introduced in the 1940’s the cool look and the resulting superb riding position made them an instant success. These risers (product design by Mark van der Kwaak / dbbp) are great reproductions of the legendary originals and show the manufacturer’s care and attention to details, underlined by the hex head clamping bolts. The offset clamps are sandwiched between Delrin rings to absorb vibration and still firmly hold the handlebars.

In the heyday of Springer forks, i.e. the 1940’s and 50’s, the inward tilted risers and matching clamps made by Stelling & Hellings were the hot ticket. Just the right parts to stand out in a crowd of Knuckleheads and Flatheads. Today original ones are nearly impossible to find so these perfect reproductions really fill a gap for dressed-up classics. Meticulously made down to the details and ready to bolt on.

Versatile rayon fabric. Back in the days the factory used a very similar tape to fasten wiring harnesses to the frame and racers use it to cover handlebar grips for an improved grasp.

We all know that even the largest screwdriver in the average toolbox simply doesn’t do the job, because the slots in the end plugs are way too big and you will inevitably ruin them in no time. The blade tip is hollow ground and 3/16” thick so it bites into the screw slot for a tight, non-slip fit. The version with 1/2” wide tip is intended for handlebars with hard plastic grips installed.
