VT-Cycle ULR Cylinder Heads
A few more extra ponies for that old Big Flathead won’t hurt and you will get them fairly easy with a set of these ULR cylinder heads, made from cast aluminum. While looking quite original on the outside they feature an advanced combustion chamber design for improved combustion and breathing. Chamber volume is 100 cc, giving 6.1:1 compression on a 74” and 6.5:1 on an 80” motor. Substantially more material allows for custom milling and pop-up pistons. Another update are the 14mm sparkplug threads (3/4” long) for modern and more common plugs.
Dyno tests showed 18% more power and 13% torque increase over a stock 1946 UL with medium compression heads, just by swapping over to ULR heads! Check out the dyno diagram! These are true rear wheel numbers, power was up big time and torque curve is impressive! Remember, torque is the most important figure with flatheads!

Bates T-Nuts for Sissy Bar Mounting Holes
Sometimes it's the little things in life that make the difference. Like this inconspicuous T-nut by Bates.
If you want to mount a sissy bar on Big Twin rigid frames 1936-1957, this is usually done at the mounting holes for the fender braces, which are located on the axle plates. The original mounting bolts are pushed through the axle plate from behind and secured from the front with a fairly large nut (wrench size: 5/8"). The problem is on the one hand, due to lack of space and mounting bolt length, the complete rear wheel as well as the brake base plate must be removed and on the other hand that the nut mounted from the outside leaves a rather bulky impression.
Bates T-nuts can be placed into the axle plate without removing the rear wheel and brake base plate. Additionally they are threaded, so the sissy bar can be mounted with a fairly plain 5/16“-24 screw. This gives the Harley-Davidson Chopper a much cleaner look. Two flats allow you to hold on to the T-nut with a 9/16“ open-end-wrench during installation.

Reproduction of the oil bath air filter used in the Harley-Davidson WLA and WLC models of the US and Canadian Army. Efficient cleaning of the intake air is particularly important during operations in the field, as dirt particles sucked into the engine increase wear and cause material failure. This is detrimental to combat capability. To keep the risk of failure as low as possible, all military motorcycles were equipped with oil bath air filters.
Original filters of this type clean the air sucked in by the engine by guiding the air flow over the surface of an oil sump at the bottom of the air filter bowl. In doing so, dirt particles adhere to the surface of the oil. Unlike the original oil bath air filters, which work with a wire mesh and oil, the The Cyclery air cleaner reproduction kit is supplied with a paper filter element and used without oil!
In appearance, this is the early “louvered” version of the short, round oil bath air cleaner, fitted with an open inlet slot. This version was used on 42WLA Type I-A, the first 42WLA Type I-B and 42WLC models. The later 42WLA Type I-B were already supplied with the “full-covered” version of the short, round oil bath air filter.

This kit developped by Cannonball converts Harley-Davidson models with Big Twin, Servi-car or WLC Springer forks from drum brake to disc brake. Each kit includes a dual piston caliper with pads, caliper bracket, 10” disc rotor, brake anchor, wheel hub adapter, and all small parts necessary for final assembly. Brake lines and handlebar master cylinder are not included and must be ordered separately.
Kits that are delivered without axle reuse the OEM axle (pls see article details).
