For WR factory racers the Harley-Davidson Motor-Company made a special "Light Frame" with numerous lightening holes on forged parts and various brackets omitted to save weight. On the other hand two rear frame braces were added to increase stability and two tabs to accept two compression springs for a small racing seat.

To save even more weight the original light frame tubes were made of thin walled chromoly steel which — under then common conditions and machining possibilities — were prone to break. Therefore Samwel use construction steel for their replica frames. That gives you the right amount of peace of mind when you're setting up your authentic race bike. Dimensions and details nevertheless exactly follow the factory counterpart.

Please check permission to use these frames as replacements with your local authorities.

This relatively light tubular construction with welded ends solves this problem, as the seat post tube is reinforced from the inside. The stabilizer is inserted into the seat post tube and held in place by a flange attached to the top. The tube is fixed from below with a 5/8" screw. ...
