Nothing changes the look of your hand-built custom motorcycle like a bobber gas tank such as this. The Lowbrow P-Nut gas tanks are based on the old Wassell peanut gas tanks available in the 1950's - 70's. The Lowbrow versions are made from heavy gauge (1mm, approximately 19 gauge) steel, which translates they are much thicker, and the fabrication is of higher quality, than the originals. The Mid Tunnel Peanut has a tunnel that runs about midway through the gas tank, bringing it higher off the backbone than the original (deep tunnel) version.
All gas tanks by W&W Cycles are delivered unpainted and unsealed. Before the paint job and final installation please consider the following:
- We consistently receive tight gas tanks from the manufacturers, both Custom and OEM replacements.
- Problems mostly occur during or after installation. Hence, before a pressure test and before painting - a probationary tensionless installation is highly recommended. Any leverage on the tank mounts spells trouble. Better use our selection of small parts.
- To avoid corrosion always fill your tank to the max during longer downtimes or seal it on the inside.

Lowbrow Competition Gas Caps
Add a little race style to your 1983→ Harley-Davidson motorcycle with one of these filler caps, inspired by vintage aviation gas caps. With FUEL touted across the cap, they look right at home on cafe racers and scramblers as well as on any performance motorcycle. They feature a ratcheting mechanism, which allows you to tighten the cap and then rotate the design in line with your bike.
Prism Fuel Valves 1966-1974
These small petcocks fit direct to either a 1/4" or 3/8" NPT bung on your gas tank. This keeps your gas tank looking very clean. They feature a 5/16" diameter hose barb on one end and a fuel filter on the other. The manufacturer recommends 1/4" ID fuel line for a snug, leak proof fit. Rotating the cylindrical piece with the two grooves is how the fuel is toggled on and off. No reserve. Length measured without hose barb and filter.
Tolle Mini Pop-up Screw-in Gas Caps
The smallest gas caps on the market for H-D fuel tanks. The designer must have had some very good experiences the night before because the locking mechanism of these caps is brilliant. When closed, the caps sit nearly flush on the tank for an absolutely clean look. To open, just a slight push and twist movement is necessary and a knurled disc pops up to unscrew the cap....
Pipe Plugs
There are tanks that come with multiple threaded ports for the fuel tap, allowing the customizer to choose the best position. S&S Cycle oil pumps traditionally came with two inlet threads—but only one is needed. The other is sealed with a plug. These plugs have a tapered thread. To ensure a proper seal, they are installed with a few drops of thread sealant or some Teflon tape.
Helix Oil and Fuel Lines
Fuel hose sold by the meter, made from polyurethane with a Shore A hardness of 85. This PU offers exceptional flexibility, high abrasion resistance, and resistance to mineral oil, gasoline, and other hydrocarbons — unfortunately, it is not particularly resistant to ethanol. For this reason, the hose is suitable only for carburetor fuel containing a maximum of 10% ethanol.
