Gas Tanks without specific model assignment

Teardrop, Peanut, Hummer, Mustang, Captain America... for chopper projects, people prefer the smaller size of tanks that sit more above the frame tube. This allows a better view of the engine and, in particular, the cylinder heads. These tanks all differ slightly in shape and depth of the tunnel, so please check the pictures and the measurement charts. The tanks are attached with a bracket at the front and back. Drilling work on the tank bracket and possibly also on the frame must be taken into account.

The mustang tank …what's it got to do with horses?

Nought. The name comes from a lightweight motorcycle built in California from 1946 to 1965 by the Mustang Motorcycle Corp. The somewhat bulky teardrop shaped gas tanks of these bikes were often used for converting Harleys.
