HMB Shifter Ratchet for 750cc/45cui
HMB Shifter Ratchet for 750cc/45cui
This shifter mechanism basically works like a Ratchet Top of Big-Twin models: after each shifting operation all involved levers return to their home position and are ready for the next gear change. Thus it is possible to convert your trusty 45 cui. hand shifter Flathead to foot shift or to a Jockey shifter.
Besides the ratchet each kit comes with a bag of small parts which contains a ball joint, clevises and various mounting parts. Not included are shifter rods and shift levers.

The Cyclery Clevis Pins for Brake Rods Oversize
The Cyclery Clevis Pins for Brake Rods Oversize
Most bikes, which still have the original brake rods have enlarged holes in all clevis connections, pedal and levers. The result is a lot of slack in rear brake activation. These oversize shank pins are an easy fix for this problem. Just drill the holes in the clevis and/or lever to size and install the new oversize pin - job done. Pin head has stock size, so no one can tell it’s repaired.

Foot-operated gearshift for Harleys

In 1952, following an international trend, Harley-Davidson also started to equip its V-twins with foot-operated gearshift. The K-model series was delivered exclusively in such a way, with the 1200s there was foot shift as option. The Europeans had introduced it before and Harley built the 125 cc models with it already since 1948. The advantages of a gearshift with the foot simply outweigh: you don´t have to take your hand from the handlebars, neither do you have to operate a foot clutch pedal, which means less time loss on the road or race track and in principle a faster pace.

Foot shifting at W&W Cycles

The offer includes reproductions of all individual components of the original foot shift assembly. This includes shifters, shifter shafts, linkages, base plates and associated small parts. A very special part is the automatic shifter from HMB for 45"/750 cc flatheads, which never existed like this from the factory. With this not only veteran racers can enjoy covenientn foot shift gear changes.

Why can't I find any shift lever pedals under "foot shift"?

Yes, this is not really consistent, but: there are so many designs to choose from and forward controls even have right and left versions (i.e. brake and shift lever pedal)... that's why we present the complete selection in a separate section "brake and shift pedals".
