S&S Crankcase Breather Valve for Twin Cam
Since production start, there have been Twin Cam A engines that have had oil carry over problems, more commonly known as ”oil out the breather“. This is caused by pressure changes in the crankcases as the pistons travel up and down which prevent the oil from the cylinder heads to drain down into the cam chest. Instead oil is trapped in the drain passage. When enough oil accumulates in the rocker boxes, it will start to blow out of the crankcase breather. The problem is generally more common at sustained high speeds, and is also more common in big inch engines. For years, it was something you sometimes just had to live with.
The S&S Crankcase Breather Valve for Twin Cams is an effective and economical solution to these oil carry-over problems in Twin Cams.➻It achieves an improved pressure balance for free oil flow. You can even expect a slight increase in midrange horsepower. Installation is easy and best performed when changing cams or servicing oil pump.
