This relay opens one contact and closes the other one when activated. Can be used as opener or closer or to toggle between the contacts.

It moves high loads and currents near the switched devices (e.g. your double headlamp), and significantly relieves the handlebar switches. On the StealthStarter Kickdrive there's no built-in solenoid as on other Harley starter motors. In order for the high starting currents no to pass via the handlebar push-button, there's this here relay.
After extended market-research of the right part for our aims — which were not always completely non-destructive — we stayed with the one that we propose on this page. From a technical point of view this part is a true solenoid, the contact surface corresponding to an AGW 4 wire (~21 mm²). Since we equip the Cannonball StealthStarter with a slightlly smaller 16 mm² cable, you are absolutely on the safe side with this relay.
