Pliers
Pliers
Pliers help with gripping, support and amplify the grip through leverage and protect your hands from heat, chemicals and other damage. Supported by the reinforcing leverage, pliers can cut wires and cables. Such pliers are called bolt cutters, cable cutters or side cutters. Tweezers and needle-nose pliers are a good thing when space is scarce. Pliers are also unrivaled for the controlled opening and placement of retaining rings and clips. With a locking clamp (known to surgeons as vascular clamps), you can hold small things in place or disconnect hoses without having to exert constant force. And with properly fitting crimping pliers, you can achieve much nicer and, above all, much more durable connections on electrical wires than with combination pliers. Of course, this is also possible, but combination pliers and electrician's pliers are compromises in terms of tools, as they each replace three or four different pliers. On the road, such multi-purpose pliers save space in the tool roll and should always be carried.
