Forward Controls
Advance
In the1950s, if you associated footboards with grandpa style or cop bikes and at the same time wanted to save a few pounds of weight, you came up with the idea of replacing the boards on Harleys and Indians with footpegs. Once these pegs were bolted in place, together with a Bates solo seat, you had a new, relaxed seating position. Et voilà, the forward-mounted footrest system was born.
At the latest with the premiere of "Easy Rider" in 1969, the rest of the world took notice and forward-mounted footpegs became more or less mandatory on Harley-Davidson choppers. Soon, the aftermarket was also supplying not only individual footpegs, but complete forward-mounted foot control systems. The range of W&W Cycles includes the almost legendary Sundance parts, directly from the 70s, plus many others, such as Arlen Ness and Rick's.
