Shifter Knobs
Gearshift knob or shift knob
No matter what you call them, it wasn't until 1930 that Harley-Davidson motorcycles featured hand-shift levers with screw-on knobs. (The predecessor knobs were an integral part of the lever.) And because not everyone liked the original equipment, the Factory early on offered alternative accessories for the top end of the handshift lever, and then in the '50s the accessory trade anyway. Custom shift knobs exist in all imaginable variations: dices, eye shaped, rippled balls ... just about any design that more or less suits a human hand and into which you can cut a 3/8" thread. A nice selection of them is available at W&W Cycles.
