Faber Cycle

Tom Faber is in the tool & die business since 1987, starting an apprenticeship working for a military contractor and later as a journeyman machine builder and owner of a successful die shop with 20 employees, supplying parts & tooling to the automotive industry. Faber Cycle is now specialized in manufacturing quality parts that fit & look correct for antique motorcycles. Made in USA , we spend the extra time & money on better materials, for better parts, for those spending thousands of dollars restoring their antique motorcycle.

"We want to emphasize that buying parts made in the USA should be more important to you NOW than ever........isn't that why there is a mystique about the antique Harley, or Indian? And that is what caused you to want one in the beginning? Sure, we sell some import items here and there, because we buy inventories that have to be liquidated. However, our goal is to provide as much genuine American iron as we can!.

Faber Cycle Handlebars Board Track for IOE and V Models
Faber Cycle Handlebars Board Track for IOE and V Models
This handlebar is dedicated to the infamous board track machines of the Teens and 1920s. Only machines of the factory Race Department of Harley-Davidson had these mounted. Due to the pulled-down bar ends you crouch on the gas tank and automatically adopt a racing position, which shoots you back to the starting line of the board tracks of the era. Just as with the original Board Track bars spirals and grips have to be shortened. Seen from the rider's position and based on the handlebar center, these track bars feature a radical down-draft of almost 8”.

Faber Cycle Handlebars Standard 1915-1918
Faber Cycle Handlebars Standard 1915-1918
The 1915–1918 standard handlebar was characterized by a generous pullback of 19” toward the rider. Combined with a width of 23” and bar ends that were about level with the center section when mounted, these dimensions provided the rider with a very upright seating position.

Faber Cycle Handlebars Standard 1926-1927
Faber Cycle Handlebars Standard 1926-1927
The standard handlebar on the 1926–1927 IOE models with battery ignition was significantly wider than its predecessors, measuring almost 40”. From the rider’s perspective, the pullback was reduced to just 13.5”, and the handlebar ends were positioned just a bit lower than the center section between the clamping points. On a production motorcycle from these years, the riding position was still noticeably upright.

Faber Cycle Handlebars Speedster 1926-1934
Faber Cycle Handlebars Speedster 1926-1934
The need for speed saw the so-called Speedster handlebar in 1926 — essentially an early form of later M-bars. Its ends are offset backwards just short of 6-1/2” and a bit over 3-1/2” downward, with the two bends extending forward beyond the fork tubes. (All measurements are relative to the rider’s position and take the steering head angle into account.)

Faber Cycle Handlebars Standard 1928-1934 Singles, D and R Models
Faber Cycle Handlebars Standard 1928-1934 Singles, D and R Models
Like the other Standard handlebars, the Standard bar used on early 750cc models up to 1934 and single-cylinder models of the same period is defined by a generous pullback. At 27” wide, it extends 13” back toward the rider. The handlebar ends sit at about the same height as the center section above the fork. As with other early Harley-Davidson Standard bars, this results in an upright riding position.

Faber Cycle Handlebars High 1929-1930 for IOE and V Models
The last J models and the first V models from 1929–1930 with battery ignition came from the factory with a special tall handlebar in the standard version. Faber Cycle Flanders #0-HD Handlebars
Faber Cycle Flanders #0-HD Handlebars
A top notch Old School accessory. Beautiful reproductions of the legendary handlebars that were available as aftermarket accessories during the 1940’s and 50’s by the Flanders company. Flanders doesn’t make them anymore so the talented US-manufacturer Tom Faber filled the gap. Combined with Stelling & Hellings risers and upper fork clamp (available separately) they allow for a more upright seating postion which many riders prefer for improved comfort and control. However, they work with most handlebar risers and clamps. The names of the handlebars correspond to the numbers or designations in the old Flanders catalogs. The Flanders Handlebar #0 is almost the same height as the #7, but only 81 cm wide. This, together with the slightly deeper handlebar ends, gives it a slightly beefier look. Please take a look at our drawing with dimensions for comparison. Please note: This is not a mass-produced product manufactured on CNC machines. Hand-bent handlebars are subject to certain tolerances.
