Brake Pads for Disc Brakes
Disc brake pads
Brake pads for the disc brakes on Harley-Davidson motorcycles with air-cooled V2 engine, from 1973 to current models. The range includes brake pads for original calipers and brake pads for calipers from Performance Machine, each in different pad qualities from different manufacturers.
How to choose brake pads for Harley disc brakes?
If you are sure about your Harley model and brake caliper combination, you may like to use the model listing in the store as a guide. Front, rear, model, year of manufacture, all listed to the best of our knowledge. Because nothing is rebuilt as often as a Harley and the assignment of calipers is sometimes not easy, we have taken the trouble to create a silhouette of each type of brake pad that we carry in the store, plus the most important dimensions. But honestly, even if you are 100% sure which pad you need, please take the time to briefly compare the removed old pad before ordering.
In terms of materials, a distinction is made between so-called "organic" and sintered metal brake pads. Organic brake pads brake softer, but need a bit more hand force if you want to come to a stop quickly. They are a bit more prone to wear than those made of sintered metal, but get along with most discs. Sintered metal offers better initial bite and is also more stable, but the load on the brake disc is greater. Sintered metal is a good partner for stainless steel brake discs.
