The Harley-Davidson Panhead Years

Author Steve Slocombe has written a book series dedicated exclusively to the Harley-Davidson Big Twins with the distinctive valve covers. The focus here is on contemporary documentation using extensive photographic and textual material, and less on a technically oriented restoration manual.

Each volume begins with a brief overview of factory production, followed by a listing of the individual technical changes for the respective model year. Next come the publications for dealers, followed by brochures for each new model and reprints of all (!) Enthusiast magazines published in the calendar years covered. At the end of each volume you will also find production figures and references to further literature.
