Many ioe engines idle irregularly or start badly due to a leaking intake housing/cylinder joint. This professional lapping tool cures this problem. The kit consists of 2 lapping heads and 1 lapping disc which allow to reface the respective surfaces of 1000cc and 1200cc engines.
The factory never installed seals between housing and cylinder. With a seal you will lose about three threads in the cylinder for the cap clamp nut risking to tear out the remaining threads when tightening the nut, in particular with cylinders which have tired threads.
