Button head screws with slotted head
Another classic from Harley's bolt kitchen: the head is shaped almost like a hemisphere and the drive is the classic slot. Available in various finishes, generally only up to 1/4" Ø due to the slotted drive - with one exception: the OEM 2825 in 5/16"-18 and 7/16" short. This was used from 1947-1949 as the front retaining bolt for the speedometer base plate on the first Panheads. No matter how thick the bolt head, the blade of the boltdriver must fit into the slot. If the blade is too narrow, it will be squeezed out and leave burrs. In addition, only a well-fitting boltdriver blade transmits the torque optimally.
