Button head Phillips screws

... are only found in a few places on Harleys. We actually only know two lengths: for tank emblems and blinker lenses. With Phillips screws, it is important to use the correct screwdriver size. Then the cross recess remains intact.

If the cross recess is already a little worn, first take a suitable sized punch and hit the bolt head with it. The blow compresses the slot a little and you can then drive the correct Phillips boltdriver into the slot with a light hammer blow. Slot repaired, screw undone!
