Ride Controls and Steering Dampers

In the 1930s and 1940s, many roads were far from today’s standards, so friction dampers (Ride Control) were part of the standard equipment on many Harley-Davidson models. The adjustable wheel allows the fork damping to be quickly adapted to different road conditions. In general: less damping is needed on smooth roads and at low speeds, more on uneven or rough surfaces.
This faithful reproduction comes fully pre-assembled and ready to install, making it suitable for direct use on historic Harley-Davidson models. Ideal for restorations or replacing worn original dampers.

An alternative to stock Springer fork ride controls are these scissor type friction dampers. They provide that distinctive racing appearance. Simply bolt to the fork with special hardware, which has to be purchased separately.

These small oil/gas shocks replace the inner fork springs and the rods of the front spring fork of stock Springer forks. They support the outer fork springs and provide significantly improved suspension for your front end.
