Rebound Springs for Showa Forks
Rebound Springs for Showa Forks
In modern telescopic fork designs, the rebound spring is installed beneath the damper piston. It prevents the damper from striking the stanchion tube during rebound. This not only avoids irritating noises, but also controls the movement of the fork tubes—and by installing different or multiple rebound springs, the height of your Harley-Davidson’s front end can be adjusted.

Lower Stops for Fork Tubes
Lower Stops for Fork Tubes
In a telescopic fork, the steel stanchion tube slides inside an aluminium slider tube. To prevent the stanchion tubes from bottoming out in the slider tubes during heavy compression, aluminium stop bushings are used to decelerate the stanchion in time. These stop bushings also serve as guides for the hydraulic damping tubes of the telescopic forks.

Fork Slider Drain Plugs
Fork Slider Drain Plugs
In the 2000s, Harley-Davidson began equipping more and more models with telescopic forks that no longer had (and still do not have) oil drain screws. To change the oil, you are actually supposed to remove the fork tubes, unscrew the top cap, and let the old oil drain out completely by turning everything upside down. The reason for this approach: on these forks, the oil level was set after filling using a small pump. The air cushion above the oil must be the same on both sides. The height of this air cushion affects suspension quality and damping response. And why are we telling you all this? Because below you’ll find fork oil drain screws for older telescopic forks, where no air cushion is set and you simply make sure to fill the same amount of fork oil on the left and right.

Fork Bushings
Fork Bushings
With the exception of a short period from the mid-1970s to the mid-1980s, Harley-Davidson telescopic forks have always had slide bushings in the fork sliders. With the right tool, these bushings can be replaced quickly and, unlike complete fork sliders, they are inexpensive. So here's our selection of fork slider bushings for the replacement of your worn stock parts.

Fork Tube Plugs for FL(H) and Wide Glide Forks
Fork Tube Plugs for FL(H) and Wide Glide Forks
On the wide forks of Harley-Davidson Big Twins (9-7/8” fork tube spacing), the upper fork tube caps also serve to support the tubes against the upper triple tree. For non-air-assisted forks, there are essentially only two common versions of fork caps: with 1-3/8”-18 thread up to 1977, and afterwards with an M35x1.5 thread. Fork tubes after 1977 were and are originally sourced from Japan. The pre-1977 version also features the thread and drillings for the fork vent oil separator. These earlier forks operate without an air chamber.

Fork Tube Plugs FX and Sportster
Fork Tube Plugs FX and Sportster
On Harley-Davidson Sportster and FX models with narrow telescopic forks, meaning a tube spacing of 180 mm, there are more variations than on the Big Twins. This is because, over the years since 1952, very different fork tubes have been used.
The older 33.3 mm fork tubes had inch threads., The 35 mm tubes had 26 mm threads with different pitches., The 39 mm tubes naturally had larger threads with a diameter of 34 mm.,
