Nothing beats the original, the saying goes — even if it has a few quirks and the packaging can’t deny the traces of many years in storage. The same applies to our BOSCH NOS (New Old Stock) regulators for 12 V DC generators from 1965–1982, i.e. the 65A type. Originally used only on certain XL(C)H models, they fit all generators of this type.
The terminal designations correspond to the old Bosch markings:
- DF = F at the generator
- D+ = A at the generator
- B+ = battery positive terminal
- 61 = charge indicator lamp
- D– = ground
The ground connection (terminal screw next to one of the rubber grommets) must be connected to vehicle ground, otherwise the regulator will not work. Terminals 61 and D+ are connected on the underside — just how it’s supposed to be.
