Heat shields and exhaust covers

Have you ever burned your thigh on the rear pipe of your Shovel while standing at the traffic lights? Or felt the heat of the front pipe near your newly installed forward controls? That's exactly why there are heat shields, boot guards, pipe wraps and similar stuff. As prominent, stylish or simply beautiful as the exhaust system on the Panhead, Shovel, Sportster or whatever else may be, too close physical contact with the hot pipes is unpleasant at best.

From reproductions of the original boot covers for rigid frame Knuckleheads and Panheads to heat shields for the Duo Glide and Sportster, FLH or FXR, there are parts to match the originals.

However, because such a simple part as a heat shield can also be designed to be super cool, W&W Cycles has also sourced parts from manufacturers such as Fork or Easyriders from Japan and Lowbrow or Paughco from the USA, which have become part of the range for the customizer. In addition to providing protection, heat protection tape also has the function of keeping the heat in the manifold. This accelerates the engine's exhaust gases because they can no longer release the heat into the environment via the manifold wall.
