Harley-Davidson gained access to European high-performance components such as Dell'Orto carburetors, Oldani brakes and Borrani flanged aluminum rims by acquiring a majority stockholding in Aermacchi in the 1960s. After such parts were initially installed on KR series race bikes, it wasn't long before the first production Sportster was offered with such rims. Our flanged rims are reproductions by SWC of the parts from this era. They're made of polished 6051-T6 aluminum.

Nowadays original brakes are usually very difficult to find in good condition at an affordable price. These drum brakes made from die-cast aluminum are CNC precision-machined and in no way inferior to the originals in terms of quality and function.
