Harley-Davidson gained access to European high-performance components such as Dell'Orto carburetors, Oldani brakes and Borrani flanged aluminum rims by acquiring a majority stockholding in Aermacchi in the 1960s. After such parts were initially installed on KR series race bikes, it wasn't long before the first production Sportster was offered with such rims. Our flanged rims are reproductions by SWC of the parts from this era. They're made of polished 6051-T6 aluminum.
Require special spoke sets for the combination of SWC rims and OEM style hubs.

Star Hubs 1940-1966 with Tapered Roller Bearings
This hub is completely re-engineered. It duplicates the original part in outside dimensions and appearance, but has added the reliability of tapered roller bearings. Comes ready-to-install, with conventional grease seals.
Star Hubs 1940-1966 with Needle Bearings
Reproductions of the original Star hub assemblies as used 1940 thru 1966. Unlike the stock counterparts they feature modern, exchangeable needle bearings which increase mileage, provided the hubs are serviced routinely. They come complete with all internal components installed. To be used with stock type axles and drum brakes.
