There are two different standard lengths:

592 mm tubes on all XLH and XLCH 1975-1983, XLS and XLX 1983, and XLCR 1977
642 mm on XLS 1979-1982, FXS 1977-1982, FXB and FXSB 1980-1983, and last but not least FXR 1982-1983.

Show Chrome

Show-chrome means a thin layer (up to 1 µm) on a highly polished base. In the course of use, a yellowish tone may develop in the sliding area of the fork bushings. There is no need to worry as long as there is no leakage on the seals.
