The polished chrome finish not only delivers the classic Harley look but also offers reliable corrosion resistance and easy maintenance. Ideal for custom builds, restorations, or replacing worn original fork tubes with a visually and technically superior solution.
Note: Always check the clearance between fork tube and bushing during installation to ensure proper fork performance and longevity.
Perfect for builders, restorers, and Harley riders who demand both authentic style and dependable engineering.
Ø 39 mm, for Sportster 1987-2020, FXR 1987-1994 and Dyna 1991-2005
Our selection of 39 mm fork tubes is based in the 616 mm which are replacement for several OEM applications:
- OEM 45407-86 on all Sportsters (XLH) 1986-1987 and FXR(S) late 1986-1987
- OEM 45395-92 on XLH Hugger 1992-1994 and 1999-2003 as well as all XLH (exc. 1200S) 1995-1996 and
- OEM 45360-90 on all Dyna 1991-1992 and FXDL 1993-2000.
Other models' standard tubes had differing lengths, so e.g.:
- 593 mm (OEM 45381-87): all Sportsters (XLH) 1988-1994 (exc. Hugger 1992-1994), FXLR 1987-1990 and 1994, FXR(S) 1988-1994
- 644 mm (OEM 45393-87): FXRS-SP 1987-1990 and 1993-1994, FXRS-CON and FXRT 1988-1994.
To choose the right tube length we recommend measuring and comparing your old tubes.
Information about OEM references
The lengths of the fork tubes marked with OEM references differ slightly from the original tube lengths.
Show Chrome
Show-chrome means a thin layer (up to 1 µm) on a highly polished base. In the course of use, a yellowish tone may develop in the sliding area of the fork bushings. There is no need to worry as long as there is no leakage on the seals.
The ID on the lower side of these fork tubes is 23.5 mm, corresponding to the Sportster and Dyna 1990→ model OEM tubes. You must use the 45361-90 fork stops that have 23 mm OD. Using the older 45463-87 fork stops with 24 mm OD will cause your fork tubes to seize in the lower legs.
