That's ... yes, exactly! The Fifties look of the E270 is not deceiving. Shinko has brought to market a reproduction of the Goodyear Super Eagle with modern rubber compound and an up-to-date 4-ply casing. The 16” version of the Super Eagle was standard equipment for Milwaukee Harley-Davidsons from 1947-1968.

The strictly longitudinally oriented sawtooth tread is not only responsible for the overall optical impression characterized by classicism, with the pronounced center groove it provides straightness and chassis stability for the highway. The ample tread depth guarantees sufficient service life before the minimum depth is reached.

As a typical balloon tire, the Shinko E270 is only available as a full cross-section tire. Homologation according to ECE-R75 ensures worry-free use on all bikes where load index and speed index apply.

Classic Tires for Classic American Bikes

Finding the correct tires for correctly restored Harley-Davidsons often used to be troublesome or ended up in compromises. Our selection of classic tires offers the the possibility to equip almost any classic American two-wheeler with tires of authentic treads and size. We offer products of the renowned US manufacturer Coker as well as some alternatives by the Korean company Shinko. The Coker tires are so well made that even the rigorous AMCA (Antique Motorcycle Club of America) judges accept them as stock replacement.

Unlike today’s size indication classic tires were often identified by and marked with the outside diameter. To determine the required rim size you typically deduct 6” from the indicated OD.

Example: a 26 x 3” tire requires a 26 - 6 = 20” rim.

Hammer Sycle Wheel Covers

Hammer Sycle Wheel Covers

Pictures of the good old days, i.e. the Forties and the Fifties, often show bikes which sport so-called wheel covers. These were very popular accessories in their days, because they gave the wheels a completely different appearance. So if you really want to show off and stand out with your classic bike, here’s your hot ticket. These wheel covers are exact reproductions of the period parts, hand-made from industrial finish stainless steel which allows you to polish, chrome or paint them. They fit 16” wheels with star hubs →1966 or 1967-1972 hubs and come with the correct small parts. Slight modification of axle spacers may be necessary.
