Shinko Motorcycle Tires
Shinko, or rather the Shinko Group, is today a major international producer of rubber goods of all kinds.
As with many world market leaders, it all started small, but with a special, unique and good product. In 1946, Shinko still “only” produced bicycle tires and the tubes for them in Osaka. But that's what Shinko did really well.
The big leap came almost 50 years later, when Shinko was able to acquire the former Yokohama Rubber Co. with production lines and all the know-how needed for motorcycle tires. Of course, the know-how has not stood still. Production is now based in (South) Korea because the Shin Hung Company has also been integrated into the Shinko team. The intellectual headquarters, if you like, have remained in Japan. Incidentally, there has been a European representative since 1978.
