Dowel pins

Dowel pins are mainly used for positioning components. In principle, they are rollers made of spring steel that are not completely closed. They are hammered or pressed into a hole. In order for the pin to clamp correctly, the matching hole must be slightly smaller than the pin´s outer diameter. Dowel pins are listed according to diameter and length. The diameter listed for dowel pins is always the nominal diameter of the hole. If you measure, you will find that the diameter you measure is larger than the specified diameter.
