Opening in 1967, JIMS established itself as one of the frontrunners in the aftermarket Harley-Davidson performance industry. Over the years JIMS has grown, based mainly on product quality and word of mouth. Since then the facility has grown and expanded into one of the premier manufacturing venues in the country. Growing from one small corner of an industrial building, to three large buildings at almost 50,000 square feet, housing state of the art manufacturing machines.

These tappets perform like a hydraulic tappet from start up to about 5.500 rpm and then turn into a solid up to the rev limit. What this all comes down to is that about the time your springs start to surge at high rpm and go into harmonic distortion the tappet rollers start lofting off the back side of your cam. With JIMS Hydrosolids you can be at ease knowing that they will not pump up allowing your valves to hit each other or the piston with consequent disaster. This is very critical in high performance engines with big valves and high lift cams.

Jims Powerglide Steady Roll Tappets for Twin Cam
High lift cams and strong valve springs substantially increase the loads on the tappet rollers, which can lead to failure of stock components. Then the broken needle rollers will likely destroy your oil pump and the deformed roller will damage your cam lobe. Ultimately, a complete engine tear down and oil system flush are required to remedy this. The Powerglide Steady Roll tappets have the needle rollers replaced with a special bronze alloy bushing and the improved roller attached to a proven “Powerglide” tappet. This combination results in significantly increased reliability, longer life and quiet operation. The failsafe design means even if the bushing wears out, it will be retained in the tappet assembly.

May be used in a bench vise, arbor or hydraulic press. Works with cylindric, conical or barrel-type springs with up to 1.6 ” OD (40 mm). Cylinder and body are manufactured from 6061-T6 aluminum and teh steel spring plates and mandrel will provide years of service. The Jims R & D department has come up with a fan system, that has been adapted from NASCAR race car brake coolers and which will drop your head temperatures by as much as 37° C. It mounts in the horn area, so the Jims team has designed a horn relocater hidden inside the housing. The fan can be installed to be turned on and off manually or it can be regulated by a thermostat controlled sensor. This kit is highly recommended for performance motors to help extend engine life. Complete kit includes high powered fan, housing, horn, hardware and all wiring, along with detailed instructions. Designed for Twin Cam models but can be fitted to other models with some fabrication.

No more broken kicker covers after pulling the clutch hub. Big Twins with small late style clutch release needle bearings have the pushrod secured with a retaining ring. Therefore the pushrod cannot be pulled out without removing the kicker cover. The JIMS puller features a hollow bushing which allows the clutch hub to be pulled off the mainshaft with the pushrod and cover in place.
