The original tappet guides for 1953–1984 Big Twin models were made of cast iron, and the tappets featured separate hydraulic units.

JIMS manufactures tappet guides for 1953–1984 Big Twins from solid 7075-T651 aluminum and combines them with Power Glide series tappets, which are based on the Evolution engine design. Camshafts with valve lift up to .550” can be used. The mounting holes are flat-countersunk.
