Exhaust pipes for Panhead engines

2-in-1 manifold for stock bikes or 2-in-2 manifold for Bobbers or Choppers (upsweep, side-by-side, shotguns, Dago style). All pipes for Panhead engines are flared towards the cylinder head and are fastened with a clamp without a gasket. If the pipes do not tighten on the exhaust port, do not further pinch the clamp, but please check the connection pieces. The cylinder heads are made of aluminum and after several decades of hard service, the exhaust ports ar eoften worn out and thinner than they were when new. Owners of S&S or S.T.D. Panhead heads should look at the pipes section for Shovelhead.

The manifold does not fit between the engine and the frame. What to do?

The squish pipe, i.e. the crimped, slightly S-shaped pipe, can be inserted between the footboard mount and the engine housing without any problems on original frames and engine housings. Problems usually occur with accessory engine housings whose housing walls are reinforced. To prevent the squish pipe from being unnecessarily dented or squeezed further than necessary, it is best to loosen the four engine retaining screws, tilt the engine slightly to the left, thread in the squish pipe and the problem is solved.
