On Harley-Davidson Sportster and FX models with narrow telescopic forks, meaning a tube spacing of 180 mm, there are more variations than on the Big Twins. This is because, over the years since 1952, very different fork tubes have been used.
- The older 33.3 mm fork tubes had inch threads.
- The 35 mm tubes had 26 mm threads with different pitches.
- The 39 mm tubes naturally had larger threads with a diameter of 34 mm.
