The ignition coil used by Harley-Davidson on its first 12 V models from 1965 onwards has also achieved cult status over the decades: round and compact, easy to connect, it fits into the standard supports on FLH, FX, and Ironhead Sportster models. To ensure that this type of ignition coil also works with ignitions other than the original contacts, the coils are also available with less than the original 5 ohms. Unfortunately, only the color black is reserved for the reproduction coils...
Single Fire Ignition on Two Plug Cylinder Heads
For single fire applications on cylinder heads with two sparkplugs (the two spark plugs per head fire simultaneously, but the front and rear cylinders fire alternatingly), any dual fire ignition coil with two high tension exits will do - as long as the primary resistance fulfills ignition system requirements.
