Spring Mounted Seats
Suspension seats for Harley-Davidson motorcycles
Certainly, rear suspension systems of various kinds existed as early as the 1910s. Unfortunately, suspended swing arms did not gain larger acceptance until the 1950s, when better steels and materials became more generally available. Until then, the Harley rider had to rely on the proper functioning of his suspended seat post.
Seats and springs
Original or accessory, suspension saddles on the Harley need to be a well-tuned unit. The seats must not be able to tilt sideways so that the ride remains stable. This must be taken into account when selecting and processing the mounting parts. V-model, Knucklehead, Panhead or Electra Glide: the frames are different and therefore the mounting elements must be adapted to them. This explains the large selection not only of saddles, but also of the matching mounting parts.
