Spring Clips for Rear Axle

For safety reasons, it is common practice to secure axle nuts—on Harley-Davidson motorcycles and others alike—against loosening or even being lost by using a cotter pin. Bend-over cotter pins are single-use items, even though they can of course be straightened and reused. The so-called hairpin clips or R-clips, also known as spring cotter pins, are bulky and awkward, and if they catch on something, they can still be lost. Not this spring clip here: simply insert the straight section through the axle and neatly wrap the U-shaped part around the axle. Nut secured. And of course, it also fits other axles with a 5/8” thread and the corresponding cross-hole, not just the specified applications.
