Each high speed needle is composed of two main parts: head and needle. Thru the years the Linkert & Langsenkamp factory produced different types of heads on the same needles.

Type 2 features a Ø 11/16” top knurl and a Ø 1/2” lower knurl, while Type 3 features two equal Ø 1/2” knurls, Type 4 has a 90° bent rod instead of a top knurl. They were used as follows:

• Type 2 on all models thru 1947
• Type 3 from 1948-1951 on Sidevalves, 1952-1956 K models and 1948-1949 on OHV models
• Type 4 on late 1951-1952 Sidevalves and 1950-1965 OHV models

often with the same part number.
