Accessories for the primary drive

Throwback covers are available for the front belt pulley to prevent the pants from getting caught in the belt when the primary drive on the Panhead and Shovel runs open. It also makes sense to cover the alternator on the Late Shovel to protect it from stones etc. Chopper Dave has a cool cover for this purpose.

All gearboxes with a longer main shaft than the Panhead have an additional support bearing for the main shaft in front of the chain sprocket. This absorbs the weight of the clutch, which would otherwise pull on the bushing in the main drive gear. Support plates with bearings are available so that this useful bearing can be retained even without the inner primary cover.
