Solenoid Inner Rubber Boot
The solenoid of Harley-Davidson’s first generation of electric starters was a separate component mounted on the primary housing. To protect the interior of the solenoid from clutch disc debris and oil splash, both the solenoid and its plunger were shielded by this cover.
