Handlebar Controls 1982-1995
All Harley-Davidson motorcycles of a given model year have always shared the same handlebar controls. There are no model differences, only year differences. Sportster controls fit Softails and vice versa. From 1982 onward, Harleys no longer had the square switch housings inherited from the 1970s. The new brake and clutch controls for all Harley models from 1982–1995 featured large buttons and switches that were easy to operate even with gloves.
We offer four different configurations — with a larger piston diameter for dual-disc applications and a smaller one for single-disc brakes, each available in chrome or black. The kits include the switch housings but not the switches. The pistons in the hand brake master cylinders have the same diameter as those in the original brake cylinders. When choosing, we recommend to refer to the model listing. The switch housings are also available separately.

Fittings from 1982 - the first round ones

In this design, the switch housings, clutch lever holder and brake pump are again separate components - but designed and manufactured to fit together like puzzle pieces. And if you want to omit the switch housings, you have to bridge the gaps. From 1982 on, by the way, the throttle grips are clamped over the switch units and the throttle cables screw into the switch housings.

To the clutch levers and brake pumps aka hand brake cylinders there are levers with improved ergonomics for all those with small hands (yes, they exist...). Unfortunately, completely adjustable levers are not available for this type of controls.
