The Cyclery Racing Gas and Oil Tanks IOE 1916-1921

Since quality control on the part of the manufacturer did not meet our standards, we decided to outsource this process to a professional tank repair company right here in Germany.

There all our IOE and V-model gas/oil tank combinations undergo a diligent pressure test, during which even tiny leaks are detected. In an ensuing repair process all present seam flaws are corrected.

Only after this procedure the gas tanks will be sent out to customers.

Of course, these corrections/repairs are visible, but we see this process as the only possibility to sell these gas tanks with confidence.

To avoid problems after finally bringing the gas tanks into service, the following point must be observed before painting and final installation:

• Conduct a probationary installation of both tank halves and make sure that they rest stress-free on the frame. See the W&W selection of spacers and shims. Test fit petcocks and fuel/oil lines, too..
