Pushrods

The pushrods absorb the movement of the tappets and transmit it to the intake valves in ioe engines or all valves in the cylinder head of ohv engines.

The requirements for pushrods are quickly defined: light and stable. Light, because every gram of reciprocating mass makes the valve train more sluggish, and stable, because if you skimp on strength, the pushrods bend and prevent the valves from opening and closing precisely. On the Panhead and Shovelhead engines, they should also be adjustable; their hydraulic units for valve lash adjustment are preloaded via the pushrods.

Our proven selection of pushrods includes the brands Bender, Colony, S&S and Andrews.
