Prism Supply's Softail Chopper Project
Chopping it the Prism Way
When the CEO of a major motorcycle maker walks into your shop, a stock-as-stock-can 98 Evo Softail in tow, and tells you: "give it the chop", do you rub your eyes and wake up from a dream? Or do you take to grinder, hacksaw and wrench and turn the guy’s vision into reality? Well, just this very scenario happened to our friends at Prism Supply Co. in Concord, NC.
Unfazed, the dudes from Prism Supply
let their brains go into full overdrive chopping mode to find out what to chop, what to keep, what to add to the base 1998 Softail the guy had left in front of their shop. Founding brothers Zach and Jake Hindes have been in the business of improving Harleys for years, so a bunch of amazing parts were directly available from their own warehouse - with some of that pieces also finding a permanent spot on our shelves.
Still, the Prism Supply Team had moments
in the planning stage where they needed additional inspiration and found it right here at W&W. A few emails later the parts wound up in their Concord, NC, workshop, and we were witnessing a major project taking off. We were amazed at the pace the project went forward from start to awesome finish, including the extensive video documentation around the different stages of the tear down and build process. If you are in a rut about what to do about your stockish Softail sitting in the back of your garage, have a look. The videos are also just right to pick up fresh customizing ideas for that next long winter.
