These mounting plates for the front turn signals are bolted to the sides of the triple trees. FL(H), Sportster and Servi-Car models of the 1960s already had a threaded hole there, originally used to mount the headlamp housing to the fork. If the bike was not originally equipped with turn signals, the existing bolt was simply replaced with one that was 3/16” (4.5 mm) longer, allowing the turn signal mounting tabs to be installed. Suitable turn signals are 10-230 or 10-231.
