Cycle Electric Regulators for Touring 1997→ (EFI 1995→)

Cycle Electric regulators are built to last. Their rugged design is capable of handling overloads and continuous operation. Top quality materials and military spec. assembly processes ensure a low failure rate and a long service life.
To control voltage on Harley-Davidson alternators, rectifying regulators from other brands generate electric energy first, and then, when it is not needed just turn it into heat again. This causes maximum stator current and temperature load at all times. Cycle Electric rectifying regulators use a more intelligent approach: they make the alternator generate just the right amount of energy to reliably supply all current loads (battery charge, lights, ignition, stereo etc) by blocking current to control voltage. This reduces stator current, resulting in lower temperature and less drag on the motor which means a more efficient operation. The largest and most noticeable benefit is a smoother charge to the battery. This means less battery maintenance and a longer life for your battery .

Cycle Electric Regulators for 2009-2016 Touring Models
Harley-Davidson sells just one regulator for all these models: 74505-09A. Yes, we quote this part n° for reference purposes. But no, our Cycle Electric regulators are no 1:1 copies of these bits. Not only are they electronically ahead of the OEM stuff but alsothe case and the mounting have been redesigned. Our regulators do not smurk behind oil-coolers and water-pumps and do not die an early death, due to thermal conditions.
