Dismantling and reassembly of the 1971-1984 Harley-Davidson Sportster Clutch should not be done without a proper compression tool for the center releasing disc plate. Holding the release plate under pressure allows for easy and controlled off and on of the six outer hex lock nuts that are placed on the pressure plate studs.
