The clutch hub is located on the transmission main shaft. On Harley-Davidson Big Twin models from 1941 to the early 1984 models, the friction discs are fixed on the hub’s 10 bolts in such a way that they can slide axially. Excessive play on the bolts allows the discs to tilt and is just as detrimental to proper clutch disengagement as "frozen" discs caused by too little play or worn bolts. Our hubs with three, five, and ten threaded bolts are ideal for restorations and maintenance of classic clutches.
