During decades of riding in all kinds of weather W&W Cycles staff members have tried nearly all types of clothes designed for motorcyclists and for every different situation there is something on the market which suits perfectly or at least comes close. However, when it came to cold weather underwear none of the tested products proved to be something you would recommend for the next Elefanten-Treffen or Crystal Rally. Functional underwear sold through outdoor and climber shops simply doesn´t do the job because it is made for people who move but bikers don´t move (almost) on their bikes, so their underwear has to carry out a different task. Then came the day when we tried Ullfrotté underwear by Woolpower from Sweden and now we have something to recommend...

Pattern for the 1954 Utility Shirt was an authentic vintage Tee with button front and a slim fit. These shirts were meant to be worn underneath, which explains the slim fit, but of course they look just as good if worn on the outside. Made from 100% cotton jersey fabric which is fleeced on the inside for high wear comfort.

Scarf, bandana or a combination of both? On the bike all this tangle and knotting actually is a bit impractical. Today we have the much more convenient, easy to apply and versatile. If required it slips on in seconds and effectively protects your neck and head from wind, wet and cold.
The Buff Original is your tube for normal weather conditions and average temperatures. A 100% microfiber, seamless tubular with high-stretch properties. Made from Coolnet UV+ fabric, which cools and provides excellent breathability and humidity control. Additionally it protects from 98% UV radiation (UPF 50+). Thanks to its Polygiene system, the fabric remains clean for longer without releasing odors caused by bacteria. Produced using 95% recycled materials.

Wind tight and warm, this is what you expect from a good balaclava. The Buff Cross Tech serves this purpose in an excellent way. The neck is from polar fleece, and between chin and hairline a Gore Windstopper membrane is integrated. The top is made from a light and breathable mesh fabric to avoid heat build-up and to have just a fine layer between your head and the helmet liner. Ample ventilation in the mouth and nose area eases breathing.
